Fire-Resistant Glass-Laminated Glass

Fire-resistant glass is a safety glazing designed to contain flames, smoke, and heat during a fire. It provides fire integrity (E classification) by preventing the passage of flames and hot gases, and in higher grades offers fire insulation (EI classification) to limit temperature rise on the non-fire side. Common types include wired glass, tempered borosilicate glass, and laminated glass with intumescent interlayers that turn opaque and insulate under extreme heat. It is essential in fire doors, partitions, stairwell enclosures, and escape routes, buying critical time for evacuation while preserving daylight and visibility.
